Bienvenue à la Classe de Français!!
Welcome to French at Central High School. I am Mademoiselle Fuiten. I am from Lincoln, IL and graduated from Western Illinois University in 2007 with a B.A. in French Education. I studied abroard in the Spring of 2007 at the l'Institut de Touraine. This will be my 4th year at Central!
My educational philosophy: each student is a unique individual with various learning abilities and needs. As educators, we must try to meet each of these needs everyday in the classroom. I teach my students not only the importance of the French language and culture but also the importance of becoming a responsible and productive member of society. It is my goal to share my knowledge with my students in order to inspire, educate and guide them through their education.
I believe foreign language education is one of the best subjects a school system can provide. I believe foreign language education allows students to better appreciate other cultures and other people's differences. It expands the opportunity to travel the world and create new experiences. Studies have shown that those who are bilingual have a higher chance of obtaining a job over someone who only speaks English. My experiences abroad have allowed me to meet friends from all over the world, become more independent, and have increased my appreciation for the little things in life.
